OneMain Challenge Series Eyes Trio of Events This Weekend

The OneMain Challenge Series for WISSOTA Late Models will be back in action this coming weekend with a trio of events Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Friday, the series will make its first stop at the Proctor Speedway just outside of Duluth, MN since 2006 when Elk Mound, Wisconsin racer AJ Diemel topped the field in one of his 11 series victories. Saturday night, the series makes a return visit to the Rice Lake Speedway in Rice Lake, WI for the first time since 2008 when Canadian Joel Cryderman bested the field on his way to victory lane and Sunday night, the series will head to the AMSOIL Speedway in Superior, WI as part of the annual Twin Ports Twin 25’s – Hermantown, Minnesota’s Darrell Nelson won the most recent Challenge Series stop at AMSOIL in 2015.

Hibbing, Minnesota’s Jeff Provinzino leads the current series point standings with an 8 point lead over Jake Redetzke, a 9 point margin over Lance Matthees, an 11 point gap back to Jeff Wildung, who sits in 4th and a 17 point margin ahead of 5th place Curt Gelling as the series rolls into this weekend.

24 competitors are still eligible for the series points fund and the $10,000 top prize that goes along with it when the series wraps up on Labor Day at the St Croix Speedway in St Croix Falls, WI.
Five more series events are on the schedule after this weekend, including a weekend double header at the I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN on Thursday, August 18th and a stop at the Fiesta City Speedway in Montevideo, MN on Friday, August 19th.

The final weekend for the OneMain Series will take place with back to back events at the Hibbing Raceway in Hibbing, MN on Saturday and Sunday, September 3rd and 4th and then the final event of the series will be held at the St. Croix Speedway in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin on Labor Day Monday, September 5th.
